Diversity Committee
○ Expansion of Employee Resource Groups from 4 to a total of 9 groups. These groups are aimed at expanding possibilities for diverse employees to have the opportunity to be valued and to be heard, engaged, and included:
- 1. LGBTQ+ & Allies
- 2. Bridging the Gap - Intergenerational
- 3. Cultural Celebration Committee
- 4. Managing Multiple Priorities
- 5. Persons with Disabilities
- 6. Racialized Persons
- 7. Mental Health Awareness and Support Resource Group
- 8. Indigenous Persons
- 9. Women in STEM
○ Implemented the Video Remote interpreting pilot program at a number of primary Customer Services areas across the Corporation. The terminals provide immediate on-demand video remote interpreting sessions in 36 languages including American Sign Language and 240 languages (audio). This equipment is now available in the Customer Service area, 1st floor, City Hall and in several other areas in City Hall and in the 400 City Hall Square East building. This service is complimentary for our customers at these customer service areas.
● The Workforce Census was reviewed by a variety of community partners and then it was distributed to staff on September 10, 2018 and it closed on or about November 9th, 2018. In 2019 the data was reviewed by a consultant and then summarized in a consultant's report.
● An update was provided to the committee on the 'Diversity and Inclusion Initiative Workforce Census Report' and the "Workforce Census Information" documents. The salient points of the Workforce Census Report is as follows:
