resources that have been a vital part of my life. (See the box below for a summary of the most valuable resources I have found through the years.)

All these ADHD resources have helped me excel and overcome many challenges ever since I was diagnosed with ADHD. These days, we have access to a plethora of information on the inter

net, which helps us educate ourselves on ADHD. We can better understand how our brains work by reading science-based, accurate, clear, and authoritative articles. We can be more productive by creating our own toolbox and hand-selecting different tools to add to it. We can feel welcome and be part of something big by joining a community. We can welcome others with

PODCASTS

I enjoy listening to podcasts when I organize my desk, fold my clothes, do the dishes, or even drive to work during rush hour. I listen to podcasts, including a few about ADHD, which I think are super informative and supporting. What’s great about podcasts is that you can listen to them as you are doing something else and on the go. Technology has made so many resources easily accessible through the devices we always carry in our pockets. ADDitude Magazine has a great podcast called “ADHD Experts Podcast,” where ADHD experts answer questions submitted by adults with ADHD and parents raising children with ADHD. “ADHD Experts Podcast” is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more.

A top-rated podcast for parents is “Parenting ADHD Podcast,” hosted by Penny Williams from ParentingADHDandAutism.com. Penny Williams provides weekly podcasts bringing on guests, giving insights, strategies, and resources for parents raising kids with ADHD, learning disabilities, and/or autism. “Parenting ADHD Podcast” has over 1.75 million downloads and is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more. “ADHD reWired” is another excellent podcast with over 400 episodes. Host of “ADHD rewired,” Eric Tivers is a psychotherapist, coach, and entrepreneur with ADHD who tells stories, brings guests on, and gives excellent productivity tips as he talks about the challenges and struggles that we face in our lives. My favorites “ADHD rewired” episodes are when they do the Q&A episodes with multiple guests going over various questions and answering them as a group. “ADHD rewired” is available on Apple Music, Google Play, and more

Another top-rated podcast is the "I Have ADHD Podcast," hosted by Life coach Kristen Carder who works with adults with ADHD. This podcast has over 100 thousand monthly listeners and is listened to worldwide. "I

Have ADHD Podcast" is available on Apple Music and Spotify.

FACEBOOK SUPPORT GROUPS

Understanding that you are not alone and that there are people out there who understand the challenges you are facing is so helpful. Facebook is one of the many resources I use to understand my ADHD better and better understand my challenges by being part of a community. These groups are a great way to get support and information from other people who know what you are going through. All you have to do is type in “ADHD Support Groups” in the search tab and press search to find a list of all the groups you can join. You can enter all sorts of ADHD support groups such as “Adult ADHD Support Group,” “ADHD Parent Support,” “A Group for ADHD Women,” “ADHD Dating and Relationship Advice,” “ADHD Men’s Support Group,” and so many more. In these groups, you get to be part of an ADHD community where you can hear about other people’s positive stories and how they’ve overcome their challenges. You can reach out to group members and get advice from others whose brains work similarly to yours. It’s a great way to make connections and friends too. You can find many more resources within these groups from others who share what helps them

DIFFERENT BRAINS

Different Brains Inc. is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit that strives to encourage understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of individuals who have variations in brain function and social behaviors known as neurodiversity. Different Brains has extensive resource sections on multiple neurodiverse diagnoses such as ADHD, anxiety, autism, OCD, dyslexia, and more. I am currently an intern at Different Brains, and they have been a significant part of my life since I joined them almost two years ago. The website is home to many articles written by professionals and advocates, including myself, providing tools and information about ADHD.

Dr. Hackie Reitman, Founder and President of Different Brains, is the host of a very informative podcast called Exploring Different Brains with many episodes about ADHD specifically, which you can find on their YouTube channel, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, and other social media platforms. Some of my recent favorite Exploring Different Brains episodes are “Harnessing Abilities With ADHD, with Brooke Schnittman” and “Thriving with ADHD, with Shawn Smith, Me.D., CCC”. Different Brains has also helped me better understand ADHD comorbidities and related conditions, as they provide information and support regarding other neurodiverse diagnoses and conditions that could co-occur with an ADHD diagnosis
