Financial Matters:
The table below outlines the projects being submitted and types of investments to be made. It should be noted that all costs are estimates and there may be some adjustment to the final project submissions as further details and clarity is provided for the projects. For most of these projects, particularly all of the Facilities and Huron Lodge projects, work needs to be completed Winter/Spring 2021, prior to many of these projects being awarded funding and to ensure they can be completed on time. In addition, ineligible costs such as non-recoverable HST, internal labour and or higher than anticipated eligible projects costs, has resulted in a need for up to $750,000 in City funding to be allocated as required for the awarded projects.
Given the specific focus of this program relates to COVID related infrastructure investments to address the pressures of the pandemic faced by municipalities it is proposed that the $750,000 in capital project surpluses previously identified and being held to address COVID related financial pressures be utilized as the funding source for the City’s portion of funding for these projects.
