(AC) Accessible Unit

R – Unit removed

These units have been deemed redundant due to the proximity to other units or the disposal of a park. A graphic representation of the playground unit removals is depicted on a city map see Appendix F. The map attached in appendix F also outlines major barriers in the city that would make it difficult for families with young children to cross such as E.C.ROW Expressway, watercourses and train corridors. It provides a good visual representation of where playgrounds are located within the city, their proximity to each other for coverage according to the Official plan as well as proposed removals and replacements.

The map in Appendix F outlines the following:

Barriers for park users:

Playground Inventory

  1. Proposed Accessible Play Units

  2. Existing Accessible Play Units Requiring Rubber Surface

  3. Existing Accessible Play Units

  4. Existing Play Units

  5. Existing Play Units that will not be replaced at the end of their life cycle

  6. Play Units currently removed and not proposed to be replaced

  7. Play Units that have been removed and are proposed to be replaced
