Say NO to By-Iaw 8600 Rezoning Application for lands located on the south side of Milloy Street, between Meldrum Road and Chandler Road - Windsor Ontario.

The residents of the affected properties on Chandler and Meldrum Roads say NO to the Corporation of the City of Windsor applicationto change the minimum width of single unit dwelling lots from 50 ft to 40 ft.

This application to reduce the width of lots on vacant land at 1847 Meldrum Road and 3121 Milloy Street is intended to promote residential intensification and help minimize land consumption by permitting construction of single unit dwellings similar to family dwellings already constructed on Chandler and Meldrum Roads.

In order to do this, the applicant intends to rezone the vacant land to reduce lot size. Yet the applicant is also required by the Planning Act to demonstrate that the existing community will not be negatively impacted by the proposed development.

According to Council Report : 8 96/2020, Appendix A - Excerpts from the Official Plan: OP Volume 1 - Primary Plan:

Under Section 6.3 Residential; Subsection 6.3.1 Objectives: “The following objectives and policies establish the framework for development decisions in Residential areas.”

Whereas paragraph 6.3.1.5 regarding Services and Amenities states “to provide for complementary services and amenities which enhance the quality of residential areas.

Whereas paragraph 6.3.1.7 regarding Sufficient Land Supply states “To ensure that a sufficient land supply for residential and ancillary land uses are available to accommodate market demands over the 20 year period of , this Plan.”
