4. REPORTS

4.1 Chairperson

Chairperson D. Sanborn informs the Committee members that the annual Mayor's Reception will take place on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 2:00 o'clock pm until 4:00 o'clock pm. D. Sanborn further informs that he has drafted the fundraising letter which will be mailed to the Manor Club Members as well as previous donors to Willistaed Manor. The Committee members review and discuss the letter indicating that a draw for a dinner for six should be included for those who donate $100 or more during the year, hoping that it will encourage donations. The draw will be held during the annual Mayor's Reception.

4.2 Administration

S. Gebauer, Executive Secretary to the Board of Directors, provides the following updates on behalf of C. Masterson, Manager of Cultural Affairs:

 Curator for the Historical Exhibit

It has been determined that due to the potential value of the contract, C. Masterson is able to request quotes and therefore she is currently developing the list of work to be completed and a list of local curators who could do the work. This work would be done behind the scenes and would include cost analysis, potential exhibit design, layout and a review of artifacts. Moving forward, the Board of Directors can decide whether to do the work as a team or hire a contractor to complete the project.

 Elizabeth Talman Walker Portrait

All paperwork has been approved and Toronto Art Restoration Inc. is now able to begin the testing phase on the portrait, before moving on with the work to clean it.

 "At the Manor" Events

The 1st Annual Harvest Dinner at Willistead Manor on October 27, 2019 was sold out. One hundred guests attended the event. Three long "community style" tables had people sitting alongside each other for an epic farm-to-table meal.

This year, the annual Holiday Tours take place Sundays, December 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29; and Wednesdays, December 4 and 18, 2019. We do not have tours Wednesday, December 11, or Wednesday December 25 (Christmas Day).

A Breakfast Buffet with Santa will take place on Sundays, December 1, 8 & 22, 2019. Mini self-guided tours of the first floor of the Manor will be available.
