- Dear Gordon,
-
- Through a ticketing paitnership between Transit Windsor and the Detroit Grand Prix, we have seen significant benefits in how this event has benefited the City of Windsor, but more specifically Transit Windsor.
-
- Our paiinership has provided an ease with which residents and visitors to the Windsor/ Essex County Region can purchase their admission ticket to the event along with round trip transportation with the special event service direct to Belle Isle. This partnership has provided many options to those travelling to the area with the realization they can stay, shop and eat in Windsor and travel to and from the Grand Prix events with direct, safe and hassle free transportation. Transit Windsor is the only transportation provider that is allowed access to Belle Isle directly other than the Grand Prix event service as no cars or tour buses are allowed on the island.
-
- For this year's Grand Prix event, we cai-ried 242 riders on Saturday, June 151 and 511 riders on Sunday, June 2nd.
-
- Transit Windsor recognizes that the unique cross border transportation service that is provided opens doors to opportunities with the special events that happen in the City of Detroit. Special events such as this creates revenue for businesses in the City of Windsor, and it helps to portray the City of Windsor as a viable option for travel for visitors to our region.
-
- Sincerely,
- Patrick Delmore
- Executive Director, Transit Windsor
