Few municipalities in Ontario have instituted service level Option C. Those that have, charge between $15-$25 per item. In comparison, the current tipping fee at the Public Drop Off Depot for a load weighing 100 kg. would be less than $10.00.

Service level Option B is more common among Ontario municipalities, however, many of those municipalities incur substantial costs and are considering reducing or eliminating this service.

Administration is not recommending any change to the current service model. The present Public Drop Off facility and that ability to dispose of prepared material with garbage collection meet the needs of our customers while being fiscally responsible.

4. FINANCIAL MATTERS:

The current service level (Option A) will be provided for in the 2011 Budget. It is generally estimated that either Option B or C would cost $100,000 more than Option A. An in-depth cost analysis would be required for more specific fund requirements.
