Collaborating on Culture Propelling the Plan

The Cultural Plan has been guiding the Municipality of Port Hope to grow and support the various facets of our community that contribute to our rich and unique local culture since 2012 and active until 2032. A comprehensive mid-point review and community consultation – Collaborating on Culture - has been completed to confirm the ongoing relevance of the Cultural Plan and to ensure the plan remains current, productive and impactful.

Culture Plan Vision

The Cultural Plan is intended to provide a framework for fostering creativity and increasing cultural participation. The plan leverages resources while exploring new potential for growth until 2032.

Our definition of culture:

Culture is a creative expression of who we are and who we want to be. It recognizes our values, customs and beliefs, heritage, built and natural environment, and our intellectual and social achievements. Culture is all those things that make our Municipality unique and vibrant - how people express life and live in our community.
