Conclusion

The Municipality of Port Hope is in a strong position to continue to respond to and prioritize the Cultural Plan. Propelling the Plan will be used to support and develop cultural activities reflective of the community, as well as strategic resource planning. The focus areas identify the community desire to enhance aspects of the ongoing work including marketing and promotion, inclusivity for all and limiting barriers. There is a community desire to increase awareness of support mechanisms in place, and to promote and foster partnerships with and between current and emerging groups. The plan includes a response to the community's identification of the importance of events, attractions and heritage throughout the Municipality of Port Hope, for their potential as tourism, economic and social drivers.

Collaborating on Culture has identified the community recognizes the significance of supporting culture and the work being done to propel Cultural Plan activation. The community has also provided clear direction on the focus needed for Propelling the Plan to ensure that their vision for the Municipality of Port Hope continues to develop.

As part of Collaborating on Culture – Propelling the Plan many relevant Municipality of Port Hope report and plans were reviewed, considered and had an impact.
