IF YOU GET THE FLU . . .
1. Contact your health provider to find out the best way to receive treatment.
2. Follow your health provider's instructions for easing your symptoms.
3. If you can, rest as soon as symptoms develop.
4. Wash your hands often to avoid contaminating those close to you.
5. Stay well hydrated.
6. Eat a healthy diet, especially fruit that's high in vitamin C, and veggies and grains (these help to cleanse your system).
7. Avoid sugars and alcoholic drinks.
8. Use a humidifier if the air is dry.
9. Sit in a steamy bathroom to ease congestion.
10. Stay at home if you are sick.
11. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you sneeze or cough and discard the tissue. Don't have a tissue? Cough into your upper sleeve or elbow.
12. Clean and disinfect any surfaces that you may have touched.
13. Avoid contact with the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.
