8. CONCLUSION :

In conclusion, the City continues to use best management practices outlined in the CAN/CSA-Z614-14 standards for inspecting and maintaining all city playgrounds to reduce risk of injury to users. Ongoing maintenance, inspections and an annual audit of all the playgrounds in the city will insure they are safe and provide the best service possible to the public. Administration recommends Option B outlined in this report for the replacement schedule of playgrounds city wide as well as the installation of rubber surfaces for all new playgrounds which fully complies with AODA standards and will significantly reduce the risk of injury to users and overall maintenance costs for the lifecycle of the asset.
