You have to consider the impact on the roads. There are 93 spaces on this lot for trucks and trailers. You also have truck traffic from and to the scrap yard which is directly across from the Drouillard Road entrance. The corner of Franklin and Drouillard can be a very dangerous spot for pedestrians when there are line-ups for the scrap yard.

Much of the noise comes from the dock area, especially when moving metal racks. This dock is exactly along Metcalfe Street and the homes on that block.

This yard has been a problem for years with the former owners. I have been involved in one way or another with each of them - as an individual, with Marina's help from Drouillard Place, by-law complaints, the Ward Councillor, or more recently Ford City Committees. The residents should not have to put up with this type of operation. It is detrimental to the residential area. I have recently spoken to several of my neighbours and they agree with my position.

The truck traffic and yard - a transportation terminal - does not fit in with the new branding of a community of small businesses that Ford City, the BIA, and residents have achieved. The location would be better served with needed housing. Please do not let this situation continue again! We deserve a healthy, liveable and safe community, do we not?
