Recommendation:

THAT this report from the Human Resources Department on the Salary Market Comparison Review and the report of Annetts and Associates reporting on the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) compensation BE RECEIVED for information; and,

THAT the compensation level for the CAO and CLT NOT BE ADJUSTED given the results of the salary market review, and remain subject to annual increases consistent with their employment contract.

Background:

The Mandate

At its meeting of November 29, 2010, City Council authorized the completion of the salary market comparison for both the CAO and the CLT to be completed separately from the non union employee group (CR431/2010).

Specifically as well, it should be noted that the Employment Agreement between this CAO and the Corporation states ... “The salary grid will be reviewed annually and shal l be increased as may be mutually agreed between the parties or as a minimum, shall be increased in accordance with the process for annual increases and market salary review granted to other senior management employees of the Corporation.”
