Discussion:
At the most recent meeting of the Diversity Committee held on September 29, 2020, the Committee received a presentation from Professor Jane Ku of the University of Windsor in which she requested that the Diversity Committee provide written and in-kind support for a proposed Ant-Racism Conference to be held at the University. The Committee voted to recommend to Council that this support be given.
Normally, this Committee Report would first go to the Community Services and Parks Standing Committee and then to City Council for approval. However, as the conference proposal must be submitted by October 16, 2020, there was urgency to this matter.
The recommendation in the email poll was passed unanimously.
