SUBJECT: Report 175/2020 Relief from Property taxation 2019 Extreme Poverty and/or Sickness 

RECOMMENDATION

That the Recommendation In Report 175/2020 be amended as follows. 

THAT City Council ACCEPT Administration's recommendation with mg,seds to approval or twelve (12) application for total tax relief of $22,053.31 'inclusive of education portion); and, 

THAT City Council SUPPORT administration's recommendation with regards to the denial of ten (10) application for tax relief

DISCUSSION

Subsequent to the completion of Report 175/2020 Relief from property Taxation 2019- Extreme poverty and/or Sickness Administration discovered that an error was made with regards to two applications. The applications had received property tax relief on two previous occasions and therefore are ineligible from receiving additional property tax relief for 2019. The P&C memo previously circulated to the City council has been updated to reflect the removal of these two applications from the list of those for approval. 

As a result, the total financial relief is 522,0S1.31 which includes an amount for education of S1,769.66 There is sufficient funding available for this purpose.
