GC 4.04 MAINTAINING ROADWAYS AND DETOURS 

  1. The Contractor shall not be required to maintain a road through the working area until such time as the Contractor has commenced operations or on any part of the Contract that has been accepted by the Corporation.

  2. Where the Contract Document provides for or the Engineer requires detours at specific locations, payment for the construction of the detours, and if required, for the subsequent removal of the detours, will be made at the Contract prices appropriate to such work.

  3. Where the Contractor constructs a detour which is not specifically provided for in the Contract Document or required by the Engineer, the construction of the detour and, if required, the subsequent removal shall be performed at the Contractor's expense. The detour shall be constructed and maintained to a structural and geometric standards approved by the Engineer. Removal shall be performed as directed by the Engineer.
