GC 4.16 LABOUR CLASSIFICATION AND RATES 

The Contractor shall, if required by the Engineer, deliver to the Engineer, or at his office; a schedule showing in detail the classification and rates of labour employed by the Contractor on the site. 

GC 4.17 DUST CONTROL 

The Contractor will be solely responsible for controlling dust nuisance resulting from his operations, both within the right-of-way and elsewhere.

 GC 4.18 EMPLOYMENT 

The Contractor and any sub-contractor of the Contractor will 

  1. employ only persons legally entitled to work in Canada.
  2. in employing persons, refrain from discriminating against any person by reason of their race, religious views, political affiliations, or sex. 

GC 4.19 LIMITATIONS OF OPERATIONS 

Except for such work as may be required by the Engineer to maintain the Work in a safe and satisfactory condition, the Contractor shall not carry on operations under the Contract on Sundays or holidays without permission in writing from the Engineer. 

GC 4.20 CLEARANCE OF SITE ON COMPLETION 

  1. The Contractor shall remove surplus materials, tools, debris, construction machinery and equipment not required for the performance of the remaining Work.

  2. The Work shall not be deemed to have reached Completion until the Contractor has removed surplus materials, tools, construction machinery, equipment and debris. 

GC 4.21 PERIOD OF MAINTENANCE 

  1. In these conditions, the expression "Period of Maintenance", shall mean the period of maintenance named in the Tender, calculated from the date of the Notice of Completion of the Works issued by the Engineer in accordance with Clause 3.24 hereof, or in the event of more than one Notice having been issued by the Engineer under the said Clause, from the respective dates so notified; and in relation to the Period of Maintenance, the expression "the Works" shall be construed accordingly. Unless otherwise specified, the Period of Maintenance shall be one year.
