I could get into the:
-
Economic losses,
-
Resultant increases in poverty (which ironically will directly correlate to more hospital users),
-
Climate change failures,
-
The fact that when you choose to live in the county, you are exchanging paying fewer taxes in exchange for receiving fewer immediate amenities,
-
Flood plain failures and threats "down plain" into the Eastern Wards of Windsor, and
-
Let us not forget the complete and utter failure to follow the most basic of urban planning science.
Let's just keep it simple and reiterate:
Without a FULL service hospital serving the greatest density of people that need it most --as we do right now -- you are going to kill lots of them in the backs of ambulances.
Let that sink in as you make your decision. Don't believe me? Ask a doctor who isn't scared of speaking out like Dr. Al Kadri. I know many more doctors that agree, but don't want to lose their livelihoods.
There's a reason modern, thriving cities have their "Meds and Eds" concentrated together. It's how healthy, vibrant cities thrive socially AND economically! You've all done an absolutely WONDERFUL job on the "Eds", and for that matter so many other files. Now fight for us on the "Meds". You can do it gang. I have faith in our council.
Sincerely,
Rhys Wyn Trenhaile, BSc., JD.
