Dearest Windsor,

My email is in regard to Item 15 (Notices of Motion) on the City Council Agenda, November 9th 2020.

I do not support the construction of the new hospital on County Road 42 without some assurances that a FULL service hospital remains to serve the "City Proper", namely the core neighbourhoods of Windsor.

We all want a shiny new hospital. Everyone does. DO NOT fall for that logical fallacy argument. I know there are a ton of rational minds on council currently, otherwise I wouldn't take the time to write this up.

As simply as possible:

1) As I'm sure you know: The vast majority of users of hospitals are the elderly and the poor:(source: https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/82-003-x/2017009/article/54855-eng.htm)

2) And as I'm sure you know: The vast majority of elderly and poor live in the city proper.

This logical fallacy argument that the proposed hospital location somehow gives an "equal reach" to everyone is pure scientific garbage and completely ignores the most basic of statistical science. You have a massive concentration of elderly and poor in these inner neighbourhoods, yet you are pulling their vital service to the middle of agricultural land.

3) Dr. Kadri, once out of the hospital system and thus finally away from fear of reprisal, was quoted in the Windsor Star saying what I've been saying for years now: more people are going to die in the backs of ambulances.

It's because the average travel time is going to skyrocket, because the vast majority of people dying in the back of an ambulance are going to come from the city core neighbourhoods, where they are concentrated, not County Road Whatever. For the love of Peter, this is not rocket science. Surely this is recognised by SOME councilors of sound mind.
