MUNICIPAL DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Municipal staff can ensure a smooth and expeditious site plan approval process.

A pre-consultation meeting is mandatory and this consultation represents a "one-window" approach to provide feedback on development proposals and questions as early as possible in the development process. Municipal staff, consisting of various Municipal departments (i.e. Planning and Development Services, Works & Engineering, Fire & Emergency Services, Marketing & Tourism, Economic Development and Parks, Recreation & Culture), work with external agencies including the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority to provide optimum customer service. It is recommended that purchasers retain the services of a planning consultant to represent their desires and to help navigate bylaws and official plan guidelines.

Municipal staff is committed to identifying issues which may influence design decisions at an early stage of the design, helping property owners identify the physical opportunities of their property, providing guidance in the most efficient use of the property to meet the functional needs of the owner, ensuring future compatibility of the development within the context of the neighbouring properties, coordinating the requirements of other agencies and departments that have jurisdiction, and; providing a forum for sharing information and negotiating expeditious resolution of potential development issues.

Municipal staff is here to provide the information you require should you select Port Hope as a home for your business investment.
