2) Assumption Park/Sculpture Park is a beautiful park with the riverfront, pathways and spaciously placed artwork -- the riverfront being the 'Crown Jewel'. NOTHING would distract from the existing beauty. I might add the city does a great job maintaining the park. Let's keep it simple -- after all 'less is more'. I know throughout the years it cost a lot of taxpayers' money to get it to the simple beauty it is today.

3) The Streetcar does not belong at this location as it would have no added value -- again, at this location. The Streetcar would not enhance the park, but rather the true simple beauty of the park would be lost and the beauty of the restored Streetcar would be lost. They don't belong together -- they do not compliment each other.

4) The Beacon's large concrete structure with the roof obstructing the roadside view is completely out of place and not fitting with the simplicity of the existing setting.

5) There is not ample parking in the neighborhood with street permits required for those who want to view the novelty. Not only is it not the appropriate location for the Streetcar, but the security required to protect the huge investment from vandalism is not at this location. There have been enough problems with the artwork being vandalized.

Let's keep our beautiful park simple. I would prefer and suggest a subtle Beacon with washrooms, a shaded area with picnic tables or some type of sitting area and perhaps food stations/trucks brought on occasion or maybe different ethnic selections. Everyone misses the french fry truck !

Again, please reconsider this project and keep our 'Crown Jewel' in the simple beauty it is today.

Sincerely,

P. Jane Wright
