space, parkland and have been asking for an extension of the parkland development into Sandwich Town, much like the very successful municipal enhancement of McKee Park.

Over and over again in our community engagement research the feedback has been consistent with regard to the community’s priority of how vital it is to maintain green space and parkland over concrete in the west end.

Residents have provided direct feedback of how they would like to see the acquisition of the Dorian waterfront land preserved as an extension of the East-West Riverfront park system, while preserving the historic vista from the Duff-Baby House on the Dorian property shoreline.

The many newcomers to Canada, students, visitors and permanent residents live in close quarters, apartment buildings, geared to income housing, ‘single family’ dwellings with 8-10, or more bedrooms and rely on our park systems for respite and socialization as their living spaces are close quarters and many do not have yards. Maintaining green-space across the west end is paramount, including at Askin and Riverside Drive.

Further, residents have been asking for bench repairs, motion safety lighting and park enhancements along the Downtown to West corridor of the riverfront park system, and feel funds could be better spent on these necessary repairs and safety measures.

Thank you for listening to our concerns.

Respectfully,

Tammy Murray Resident, West Windsor
