SUBJECT:

Regarding Report S 20/2020 “Climate Change Adaptation Plan, Degrees of Change- City Wide”

At its May 4th meeting of Council, multiple reports relating to climate change were before Council for consideration. Report S 20/2020, presented to the Environment, Transportation & Public Safety (“ETPS”) Standing Committee on February 19, 2020, was one such report. With respect to report S 20/2020, the recommendation of both the ETPS Standing Committee and Administration was “That City Council APPROVE the Climate Change Adaptation Plan, Degrees of Change”. (ETPS 745)

At the May 4th meeting, Council’s decision was that report S 20/2020 “BE RECEIVED” (CR 191/2020). Administration believes that Council’s decision to receive the report may have been inadvertent and related to another climate change item on the agenda.

Therefore, Administration respectfully requests that Council rescind CR 191/2020 and approve the following recommendation with respect to S 20/2020:

That City Council APPROVE the Climate Change Adaptation Plan, Degrees of Change.

Attached for Council’s ease of reference are:

Report S 20/2020

Decision Number ETPS 745

It has also come to our attention that in Appendix A of the final plan, the Climate Atlas data for Windsor, NS was inadvertently included instead of the local Climate Atlas data (Detroit). This change does not affect any of the content of the plan. At this time, page 63 of the plan should be replaced with the following:
