RE: Doors Open Windsor Update and Request
It is with regret that the Doors Open Windsor Committee has decided to cancel this year’s event and post-pone to next year.
There is too much about the pandemic that we don’t know and can’t predict.
Our decision took into account the health and safety of site locations, their owners, staff, volunteers and those who would visit those sites. At this time as well, we are uncertain as to the direction the province, municipalities and local health units might take.
We also considered our sponsors and what kind of event we could deliver if we are still under restrictions.
It is our hope that the funds that have been granted us by our main sponsor, the City of Windsor, can be held over until next year.
In better news, 2021 is the 20th anniversary of Doors Open Ontario. Windsor jumped on the bandwagon in 2001 and we’ll also be celebrating that anniversary. We hope to be able to bring the City of Windsor and its residents a memorable event. More memorable for a good reason than the current one.
Many sites are already on board for next year.
The Doors Open committee is grateful for the many different ways the City of Windsor supports our event and we hope that it continues. We can’t do it without you.
Sincerely,
Joanne Hoppe Doors Open Windsor
