Once the pilot period is complete Parks will be able to report the full expected future operational costs associated with e-scooters in parks, as part of future operating budget deliberations.

Consultations:

Jamie Scott -Parks Operations

Jeff Hagan – Transportation Planning Senior Engineer

Dana Paladino –Deputy City Solicitor –Purchasing and Risk Management

Mark Friel- Financial Planning

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the permitted use of e-scooters in parks is new for the City of Windsor and therefore the associated operational cost and potential risk implications are not yet fully known. Parks will monitor both throughout the trial period and report to council through transportation planning at the end of the pilot project.
