LETTER FROM BOARD CHAIR
i n n o v a t i o n + p a r t n e r s h i p = SUSTAINABILITY
Mayor Drew Dilkens LL.B, MBA, DBA, CHRL
In Windsor, we began 2019 with a strong sense of purpose and direction. At the municipal level – having confirmed our Council and with our 20-year strategy in place – we were able to jump right in and move forward with our plan to build and sustain the future of our City.
As Mayor of Windsor, I am proud of where that momentum is leading us.
As Chair of the Board of Directors of Windsor Canada Utilities Ltd., I am also proud to see that the new and returning members of our boards of directors are equally eager to undertake the strategic planning necessary to support the growth and prosperity of our utilities.
Their engagement is vital to the success of our city.
Through the completion of ENWIN's Cost of Service application to the Ontario Energy Board – as well as the completion of its 2019 strategic planning sessions – the Windsor Canada Utilities Boards of Directors have set in place the necessary elements to ensure that ENWIN can continue to meet the needs of our businesses and residents for many years to come.
Within the context of that planning, ENWIN is now able to proceed with strategic partnerships – with the City, with local businesses and with other service providers – needed to help Windsor thrive.
Despite past economic challenges and those we may face in the future, we are ready to embrace a future fueled by innovation, partnerships and growth. ENWIN has played – and will continue to play – a key role in that success.
Windsor is pleased to partner with our local electricity and water utilities to find ways to diversify our City, act upon innovative ideas and use our technological expertise to expedite changes in our local economy.
Our common strategic focus is evident in our ongoing commitment to securing a solid, innovative future for the City of Windsor. Our shared objectives are reflected in our belief that innovation plus partnership equals sustainability.
Sincerely, Mayor Drew Dilkens Board Chair Windsor Canada Utilities Ltd.
