(b) Construction and conveyance of a pedestrian and cycling connection be provided from the existing north limit of Block 32, Plan 12M-440 directly through to the north limit of Part 1,12R-27680, and
(c) that (a) or (b) be designed to the satisfaction of the City Planner and City Engineer;
Accordingly, it is the engineers’ opinion that there is no traffic operations benefit to linking “The Orchards” residential subdivision to the Maggio development with a 20m right-of-way Clara Avenue extension. However, consistent with the recommendations to Council, our office is fully supportive of integrating an active transportation right-of-way into the draft plans of subdivision in order to accommodate a 3m-wide multi-use pathway.
Such a connection would facilitate active transportation access to Roseland Public School, to the newly reconstructed school crossing at the intersection of Clara Avenue / Karen Street at Cabana Road East, and to the bicycle facilities along the newly reconstructed Cabana Road East.
