- Areas of rot inside a tree of an Onsite Carving and Art Rejection
- With chainsaw carving there is always the danger of digging into a large piece of dead tree trunk and finding a big area of rotted or destroyed wood.
-
- This can be fixed in three ways, design change, removal of the rotted piece, or finding a new piece of wood and starting over.
-
- I 51 ; If the rot area is small, a design change will be made. Normally it will be a small change and not change the look of the carving much. If a piece of rot is discovered in the wood that would significantly change the carving the customer will be contacted and consulted.
-
- 2nd; the area can be removed and replaced with another piece of the same wood, but may show a different colour upon replacement or during the finishing stages. If the customer's choice is to remove and replace the area of rot, the time will be estimated and paid for, 50/50, by the customer and Rusty's Chainsawed Expressions.
-
- 3rd ; we can discard the whole piece of tree trunk and cut it down to the ground. If the choice is to discard the complete piece of wood, the time already spent on the project must be paid for. The customer and Rusty's Chainsawed Expressions will split the cost of time and materials spent to date as a 50/50 split, less the $100 deposit and Rusty's Carving will take the uncompleted carving from the site.
-
- The customer is then free to commission another carving to be placed on the flushed stump or have the stump removed.
-
- All carvings will have a reasonable likeness of the pictures and drawings agreed to on the original estimate.
-
- ► If, after completion, the carving is not what the customer wanted, it will be sold on the open market, and the customer may be reimbursed some of their money.
-
- ► If the carving sells for more than the original price the customer will be reimbursed the amount already paid, less the $100 deposit, a $100 Administration fee, and any travel costs. The remaining money will be split with the customer receiving 40% and Rusty's Chainsawed Expressions will receive 60%.
-
- If the carving sells for less than the amount originally paid, the customer will receive the money left after the.$100 deposit, a $100 Administration fee and any travel costs are removed. This does not include charges related to the removal of the stump or stalk.
