ROAD TRIP! EVERY BARN HAS A STORY

Old barns are part of the cultural landscape, weathering the elements over the decades. Barn No. 3 on the tour is the Van Dorp farm at the corner of Sylvan Glen and Dale Road. The gold, red and blue quilt pattern is the Dutchman's Puzzle with the Dutch windmill and the corn that is grown on the land. The 200-acre property was first purchased by Elias Smith in 1799, one of the founders of Port Hope, and divided into lots for families until 1958. There's much more to see.
