RE: Response to CQ22-2019 Council Report S214/2019

As the author of several books and various articles specializing in the War of 1812 era of Upper Canada and the history of southwestern Ontario including The True Face of Sir Isaac Brock ( University of Calgary Press 2018) , Tecumseh's Bones (McGillQueen's University Press, 2005), and in my current capacity as editor of the court martial proceedings of Major General Henry Procter, I take the opportunity to lend my enthusiastic support for the opening of the Duff-Baby Mansion to the public with Option I..

This is an incredibly important opportunity for Windsor to promote its history and tourism. By allowing people to share the same space as such important figures from our past as Sir Isaac Brock, Tecumseh, and Major General Henry Procter - to name but a few - you will be applauded and remembered for your initiative on behalf of Canada's heritage.

Architecturally and historically, the Duff-Baby Mansion is the jewel in Windsor's crown. Now is the time to let it shine.

Sincerely,

Guy St-Denis Author , (PHD candidate History)
