Conclusion:

The report herein, provides an update on various projects/initiatives within the Ojibway Corridor. With the Federal government supplying seed funding for an Eco-passage across Ojibway Parkway, Administration is proceeding with a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment and anticipate having a detailed plan to move forward in time for the 2021 Budget process.

Council has already approved funding for a study of the Matchette Road corridor to review eco-passage solutions for connecting Ojibway Park to Ojibway Prairie Nature Reserve. The Matchette Road Study is in early stages and expected to be complete Spring 2020.

A similar study is being recommended to assess the Malden Road corridor and is proposed to be included within Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions' scope of services for the Matchette Road study. There are some efficiencies expected in combining these efforts. Administration is recommending approval of similar funding to complete this review.
