ThThe new book about Wills Sainte Claire is complete.

I am happy to announce that the new (and only) book on C. Bayard Badenhausen Longtime CCCA member, author and automobile enthusiast.

Dr. Bayard Badenhausen passed away October 7, 2017 at the age of 97. He was best known to CCCA members as the author of a series of articles entitled, "A Passion for Classic Cars" which originated in the Metro Region's Metropolitan Skyline and was subsequently published in the Bulletin from 2011 to 2013. This series culminated in a cover article in the Winter 2013 issue of The Classic Car.

His articles chronicled his early life from an automotive perspective, providing first-hand accounts of pursuing, acquiring and driving Classic cars, long before the CCCA was established. During his life, dozens of significant Classic cars passed through his hands, including Duesenberg, Packard, Rolls-Royce, Cadillac and others. Today, these Classics are found in some of the finest collections in the country.

His writing style engaged the reader, vividly capturing what it was like to be a young man fascinated by what most considered to be an anachronistic mode of transportation. He was recognized for his contributions with the Fahnestock Award for publications in 2012. Bayard's automobile collecting efforts literally saved these Classics from destruction.

Likewise, his words will live on, inspiring another generation to appreciate and enjoy the automobiles we celebrate. --RJV January 2018 Harold Wills has been published, delivered and is ready for delivery to you! It has been a long time coming, but finally one of the very important figures in the early history of the Ford Motor Company and the builder of the Wills Sainte Claire automobile has had a book written about him and his many accomplishments. Up to this point in history, only articles have been written about Wills, so when author Alan Naldrett realized that no one had penned a book about this important automotive figure, he thought that he should do it himself. Alan approached the Board of Directors of the Wills Sainte Claire Museum and asked our opinion about this. We were impressed that he had already written 10,000 words and he asked if we would be interested in contributing photos for the book. We agreed, and with the contributions of the Wills Sainte Claire Museum archives and many Wills family photos provided by Mary Ann Nester (whose late husband Robert was C. H. Wills' grandson), the book has been populated with many unseen photos of Wills early life. The Museum only purchased 300 books, so availability will be tight. Order your copies today!
