South Carolina The South Carolina Fire Sprinkler Association will host its annual weeklong training event at the South Carolina Fire Academy in Columbia, South Carolina, August 17-21, 2015. This training is for fire sprinkler contractors, engineers, designers, architects, inspectors, and AHJs. Carolinas AFSA formally congratulates the members of the Carolinas Chapter for being recognized as a Certified Chapter of the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA). To become a Certified Chapter, a chapter must have bylaws, a president or chairman, and a minimum of four membership meetings per year, as well as meet several other important requirements. Although a national association, many of the most important and significant achievements of the Association are accomplished at the local chapter level. It is for this reason AFSA considers one of the most important benefits of membership in AFSA to be access to and participation in its chapters. Louisiana The Louisiana Fire Sprinkler Association will host two seminars on the subject of NFPA 25. Tuesday, August 4 at the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. AFSA senior instructor Bob Caputo will lead contractors through a four-hour session in the morning, followed by an afternoon session tailored for an AHJ audience.
