What you need to know about our cemeteries

Parks, Recreation and Culture is responsible for the administration and maintenance of lot sales, burials, set ups and project management of five active cemeteries. These include Port Hope Union, St. John's Anglican, Welcome United, Providence and Knoxville.

We also oversee seven inactive cemeteries throughout the Municipality, including grass cutting, maintenance and general oversight.

Our knowledgeable staff are able to explain all burial, cremation, memorial and service options, as well as monument cleaning, leveling and restoration.

The Cemetery Main Office is located at 114 Toronto Road, Port Hope, 905-885-5459

Commemorative Tree and Bench Programs

The Commemorative Tree and Bench program is available through Cemetery and Parks operations.

The purchase of a tree or bench will enhance any park setting. Donate the tree or bench to the municipality to be placed at a preferred location. With a tree purchase is an option to include an engraved 3 by 6 inch grey granite stone which would be placed below the tree.

With a bench purchase is included an engraved 2 by 4 inch brass plaque which would be mounted to the bench.
