RECREATION PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES
ARENA AND SKATING
We operate an indoor skating rink at the Jack Burger Sports Complex. We also maintain the outdoor skating rink at Caroline Street. The indoor skating arena is available for public use and rentals.
Jack Burger Sports Complex Arena
Full size ice rink, with seating for 1000 spectators with standing room for 200. Includes two warm rooms, accessible seating and an elevator.
Caroline Street Rink
This outdoor ice rink is a natural ice surface and is free to the public. The rink includes professional boards/glass as well as lighting when the rink is open. For rink status and location: porthope.ca/caroline-rink

Adult and Senior Lunch Skate
Adults and seniors ages 18 and up. Great opportunity for some exercise over the lunch hour.
Public Skate
Skating opportunity for all ages where participants can enjoy a leisurely skate around the ice surface. For children 9 years of age or younger, they must be accompanied by a caregiver age 14 years of age or older.
Arena rules: We highly recommend CSA approved helmets for all participants using the ice surface. CSA approved helmet with full face shield is mandatory for all participants 17 years of age and under for all shinny programs. Shoes are not permitted on the ice - all participants must wear skates. Only approved skate aids are permitted. Sleds, strollers, chairs are not permitted on the ice. Sports equipment is not permitted on the ice during public skate or adult senior lunch skate.
Adult and Senior Shinny
Adults and seniors ages 18 and up. An opportunity for adults and seniors to practice their stick and puck skills through participant led pick up hockey games.
Pre-teen Shinny
For ages 10 to 12 years. An opportunity for participants to practice stick and puck skills or participated in a pick up game of hockey.
Family Stick and Puck
Open to all ages, children must be accompanied by a parent either on the ice or in the arena. This is an opportunity for families to practice their hockey skills and enjoy participant led pick up hockey games.
