WOMEN'S OPEN DIVISION CONTENDERS

Peres Jepchirchir

Kenya • Personal Best: 2:17:16

The reigning Olympic Marathon gold medalist and fifth-fastest woman of all-time will make her Boston Marathon debut. Peres won the TCS New York City Marathon last November.

Joyciline Jepkosgei

Kenya • Personal Best: 2:17:43

Joyciline was the fastest women's marathoner in the world last year, having clocked a 2:17:43 winning time in London. She's the former world record holder in the half marathon and 2019 champion in New York City.

Degitu Azimeraw

Ethiopia • Personal Best: 2:17:58

In each of her first three marathons, Degitu cracked the 2:20 barrier. She won the 2019 Amsterdam Marathon and was runner-up to Joyciline Jepkosgei at the 2021 London Marathon. This is her first Boston.

Edna Kiplagat

Kenya • Personal Best: 2:19:50

Edna has a sterling record in Boston, including a 2017 win, pair of runner-up finishes (2021 & 2019), and a '07 B.A.A. Half Marathon title. She's a two-time world champion and last year set a masters record in Boston (2:25:09).

Sara Hall

USA (AZ) • Personal Best: 2:20:32

This past January, Sara set a new American record in the half marathon, timing 1:07:15 in Houston. She'll carry her momentum into Boston, where she was 15th in 2019. Sara's marathon best ranks No. 3 all time among Americans.

Des Linden

USA (MI) • Personal Best: 2:22:38

The 2018 champion and two-time Olympian returns for her ninth Boston Marathon. Des has finished in the top-five five times, and will look to rebound from her 17th place showing in October

Molly Seidel

USA (AZ) • Personal Best: 2:24:42

A former Boston resident and proclaimed Red Sox fan, Seidel earned Olympic bronze in the marathon last year in just her third marathon. This will be her first Boston; she placed fourth in New York City last fall.

Nell Rojas

USA (CO) • Personal Best: 2:27:12

Using the crowd to spur her along, Nell placed sixth and finished as the top American at Boston last year. She's steadily improved her lifetime best, and is one of adidas' newest marathon stars.

Charlotte Purdue

Great Britain • Personal Best: 2:23:26

The third fastest British marathoner in history, Charlotte comes to Boston for her first marathon in the United States. She’s competed internationally for Team GB on the track, roads, and in cross country.

WOMEN'S WHEELCHAIR DIVISION CONTENDERS

Manuela Schär

Switzerland • Personal Best: 1:28:17

Manuela earned her third Boston title a year ago, defeating the field by nearly 15 minutes. She's the world and course record holder, and a three-time Abbott World Marathon Majors series champion.

Tatyana McFadden

USA (MD) • Personal Best: 1:31:30

With five Boston wins to her name, Tatyana is already a fan favorite and race legend. In 2021, she earned her 20th Paralympic medal and 23rd Abbott World Marathon Majors race win.

Madison de Rozario

Australia • Personal Best: 1:31:11

In 2021, Madison made history by winning gold at the Paralympic Marathon and 800m in Tokyo, then became the first Australian woman ever to win the TCS New York City Marathon. She also won bronze in the 1500m in Tokyo.

WOMEN'S PARA ATHLETICS DIVISION CONTENDERS

Tayana Passos

Brazil • Personal Best: 3:22:27 T13 (Vision Impairment)

Tayana returns to defend her Para Division title from 2021, when she completed Boston in 3:25:45.

Liz Willis

USA (KS) • Personal Best: 4:04:01 T64 (Lower-Limb Impairment)

A Paralympian in 2016 for Team USA, Liz won last year's T64 Para Division in 4:04:01.

Jacky Hunt-Broersma

Netherlands Personal Best: 23:28 for 100 miles T64 (Lower-Limb Impairment)

Jacky ran 100 miles on a treadmill in 2020 (23h, 28m), and this year is aiming to finish 100 marathons in 100 days.
