With this year featuring the first autumn Boston Marathon, you won’t want to miss some of the area’s must-see spots. Here are landmarks on and around the marathon route.
HOPKINTON
Hopkinton Common: View the famed ‘It All Starts Here’ sign on Hopkinton Common & check out the Team Hoyt statue outside of Center School.
Stylianos Kyriakides Statue: At the one-mile mark of the route you'll see the 'Spirit of the Marathon' statue honoring 1946 champion Stylianos Kyriakides of Greece.
ASHLAND
Leaf Peeping: New England is known for its foliage. Hopkinton & Ashland State Parks are great places for a walk in the days around Marathon Monday.
Marathon Park: A mile off the marathon route is Ashland’s Marathon Park, overlooking the picturesque Sudbury River Reservoir. Visit to learn about the race’s early years!
FRAMINGHAM
Train Depot: It’s hard to miss the historic Framingham Train Depot around 10K. Many spectators catch the Commuter Rail into the city to see the race’s final miles.
NATICK
