SUMMARY: Winter will be cooler and drier than normal, with below-normal mountain snows. The coldest temperatures will occur in late December, late January, and mid- to late February. The stormiest periods will be from late January into early February, mid- to late February, and late March into early April. April and May will be cooler than normal, with rainfall below normal in the north and above normal in the south. Summer temperatures will be cooler than normal inland and warmer near the coast, with slightly above-normal rainfall. The hottest periods will be in mid-June and mid- to late August. September and October will be warmer and rainier than normal.
