Background:

On November 17 th , 2020 a letter was received from the Honourable Steve Clark, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, announcing a 2020 Audit and Accountability program. This launch is open to large municipalities to conduct service delivery and administrative expenditure reviews, with the goal of finding efficiencies while protecting and modernizing critical front-line services. The program also permits any municipality to submit more than one project for consideration.

The 2020 program is focused on the following priorities:

Eligible costs are exclusively for third-party service provider free and covers 100% of costs for a consultant/third party. EOI forms are due December 18, 2020 and will be reviewed and approved by the Province as they are received. Our understanding is that notification of the approval, or denial, of our EOI will be in February 2021. Additionally, based on the information received relative to the grant, it is our understanding that eligible costs will coincide with the receipt of verbal or written approval for the grant and that a formal Transfer Payment Agreement will follow for execution later in spring 2021.
