Windsor is no exception. In Windsor, they are also required to keep a detailed log of where all dogs and cats for sale came from. Each pet shop must also have a written agreement with a veterinarian and allow the Windsor Essex County HumaneSociety as well as the City’s By-law Enforcement staff to inspect their premises at any time.
Unannouncedonsite inspections were conductedatall of the City of Windsor’s licensed pet shops. No concernswereidentified by enforcementpersonnel with respect to the well being of the animals orcontraventionsof the by-law. City staff surveyed the operations of each shop and obtainedthe following information:
