Conclusion:
In order to achieve market competitiveness and internal equity, City Council approved a compensation market comparison for the CAO and Corporate Leadership Team. The goal is to provide a competitive compensation package that will retain and attract the most talented executive leaders. As per the consultant’s findings, administration is recommending that no adjustments be made to the CAO and CLT salaries as the 50 th pay percentile continues to be maintained. Being at the 50 th market percentile will continue to help offset adverse effects from a lack of salary competitiveness and attract executive calibre talent to these positions involving heavy workload and high levels of responsibility. It will also provide incentive for up and coming high potential employees with the Corporation to take on more senior roles and responsibility.
