Shutting the door during the winter months is doing a disservice to more than just the curling community; it negatively affects patrons and employees as well. In this time of COVID despair, our city should be doing all it can to preserve community gathering places and employment opportunities.
In order to gage the pulse of the community, the question in local radio station AM800 CKLW’s daily news poll on Monday, October 5 was as follows:
“Do you think the board of directors at Roseland Golf and Curling Club was right to cancel the curling season due to COVID-19?”
The final poll results, after more than 5,500 votes had been tallied, showed: 19% “Yes” and 81% “No”. As you can see from these results, public opinion disagrees overwhelmingly with the Board’s decision to cancel the upcoming curling season. Help us to correct their mistake…
