shall comply with such order, and any confirmation in writing of such verbal order given by the Engineer, whether before or after the carrying out of the order, shall be deemed to be an order in writing within the meaning of this Clause. Provided further that if the Contractor shall confirm in writing to the Engineer any verbal order of the Engineer, and such confirmation shall not be contradicted in writing by the Engineer, it shall be deemed to be an order in writing by the Engineer. 

GC 3.19 EXTRA WORK 

  1. The Corporation, or Engineer where so authorized, may instruct the Contractor to perform Extra Work without invalidating the Contract. The Contractor shall not be required to proceed with the Extra Work until receipt of a Written Order. Upon receipt of the Written Order, the Contract shall proceed with the Work.

  2. The Contractor may apply for an extension of Contract Time. 

GC 3.20 ADDITIONAL WORK 

  1. The Corporation, or Engineer where so authorized, may request the Contractor to perform Additional Work without invalidating the Contract, if the Contractor agrees to perform Additional Work, the Contractor shall proceed with such work upon receipt of a Written Order.

  2. The Contractor may apply for an extension of Contract Time. 

GC 3.21 CLAIMS, NEGOTIATIONS, MEDIATION, ARBITRATION  

GC 121.01 Continuance of the Work 

  1. Unless the Contract has been terminated or completed, the Contractor shall in every case, after serving or receiving any notification of a claim or dispute, verbal or written, continue to proceed with the Work with due diligence and expedition. It is understood by the parties that such action shall not jeopardize any claim it may have.
