RE: Objection to my property being included in the Local Improvement for the construction of a sanitary sewer and private drain connections on Baseline Road from 7th Concession to 8th Concession
To Whom lt May Concern:
My name is Gary Barbesin and I am the owner of the property located at 3155 County Rd. 42, an industrial/retail building fronting on the main thoroughfare County Rd. 42. Let this letter serve as my formal objection of my property being included in the local improvement of sanitary sewers on Baseline Rd. from the 7th to 8th Concession.
My maj.or concern is that it is not economically feasible or efficient to hook up to a sanitary connection in my rear yard. It is important to note that I am not allowed any access to Baseline. If I had to connect to Baseline I would have to run a sanitary line over 300 ft, under existing loading docks, through paved parking lot with a right of way to the front of my building where the current septic system is located approximately 20 ft. from County Rd. 42. I am in the process of establishing not only the excessive cost associated with running a sanitary line 300 ft. but the related elevation and efficiency issues.
It makes more sense to wait to run a sanitary line approximately 20 ft. to County Rd.42 where all my services are currently located. It is my understanding that County Rd. 42 will be widened in front of my property and the City Airport to accommodate the new hospital. I would hope municipal services would be added to County Rd. 42 at that time and I would be expected to connect to them. Until services are installed on County Rd.42 I feel I should be grandfathered and allowed to remain hooked up to a relatively new septic system.
In closing I understand running a sanitary sewer down Baseline is progress for the City of Windsor but I hope my opposition to my property being included is given serious consideration.
