I am writing in connection with Item 15 (Notices of Motion) on the City Council Agenda for November 9, 2020.
-
I do not support the construction of the new regional acute care hospital on County
Road 42. In particular, I am very concerned about - the idea of our city only having one acute care hospital. This is not acceptable for a city of our size! This pandemic has highlighted the need for at least two acute care hospitals in every major city - to ensure care is available always!
-
I am very concerned about how far out the city the location is. I had a baby here delivered at 24 weeks and they informed me that transportation from the current site of met hospital was to far from Detroit for her to survive. What about our residents with heart attacks and premature babies who need immediate transport to Detroit. How will they survive? From the prospective site they will not have the time needed to!
-
Any hospital in Windsor should be close to the border for acute emergencies our city is not capable of managing.
Any decision made that does not recognize this is an error that will cost lives.
I want to urge our elected representatives to see this and avoid it!
Thank you,
Kate Davidson
