PA474 located in England where it is operated by the Royal Air Force. A further five are considered substantial wrecks with the planes remaining in situ where they crashed. Windsor’s Lancaster Bomber is therefore a very valuable resource that will assist in telling the military history of the region and its participation in World War II.

Financial Matters:

As approved by City Council an annual budget of $50,000 has been allotted for facility expenses and minor material purchases related to the Lancaster Bomber. As noted below, the restoration work that has been completed is very costly.

2019 CH2A Expenditures
YQG Land Lease + HST $23,390.76
Rent + HST 6,163.00
Utilities 21,231.99
Equipment 8,106.00
Total $58,891.75

Specialized tools, equipment and materials are required to restore the Lancaster. The volunteers of the CH2A have been investigating funding opportunities such as donations, fundraising, grants and unique partnerships to provide the resources required to fund the additional materials required.
