CRAFT BAZAAR PORT HOPE INCUBATOR FOR LOCAL ARTISANS
The bright, airy downtown shop is a pleasure to browse through. It's divided into four-foot gallery "nooks" to showcase the works of area makers. You'll find herbal-scented body balms and bath salts, handmade jewelry, succulent plant terrariums and repurposed pieces. It's a great spot for gifts or treating yourself (and feeling good about supporting hometown crafters). Vendors pay a membership fee and receive 100% of the revenue from sales.

The creative entrepreneur behind the Nooks is a Toronto resident who started out with a furniture consignment shop on Kingston Road when she recognized a need for artisans just starting out, not ready to commit to a retail space. She also runs Nook2Nook networking for makers and NookStart, a live pitch event for those seeking funding.
