Public Works – Engineering This subject east/west alley closure is accessed off Norman Rd and is approximately 6.15m (20.2ft) wide, untraveled and composed mostly of gravel. Public Works requests closure of the entire alley and shall be offered for purchase to the applicant as a means of egress for 0 & 4947 Tecumseh Rd E. Should the abutting owner use this approach as an access, they will be required to obtain a driveway permit to complete and maintain the approach to City Standard AS-221 or AS-222. It may be the responsibility of the City to remove the existing curb cut in the future when funds exist, if the alley is not purchased. There are no municipal sewers or manholes located within the closure. An easement is required for the existing utilities for the hydro poles through this closure. A fence currently encroaches into this proposed closure. This alley appears to serve no useful purpose by CR146/2005; therefore, we have no objections to the closure of this alley.
Public Works – Environmental No concerns from Environmental Services
Public Works – Transportation No concerns with closure of the area proposed. We also support the closure of the remaining alley west to Norman with consideration that proper access/egress is provided for 4947 Tecumseh Rd E & 0 Tecumseh Rd E.The current Tecumseh Rd ROW is 26.2 meters. The Official Plan requires a right-of-way of 27m. Therefore, a 0.4m land conveyance would be requested from properties fronting Tecumseh Rd
