A railway turntable feature located at the northwest corner of the building footprint was uncovered during excavation (believed to have been unearthed between spring of 2018 to spring 2019) by the current owners. The discovery of the turntable verified the high archaeological potential of the subject property, and the need for the required archaeological assessments to be conducted by licenced archaeologists. The owners retained licensed archaeologist in the summer of 2019 to conduct the requested Stage 1 Archaeological Assessment (dated September 12, 2019), and the assessment was accepted by MTCS on October 1, 2019, along with its recommendations and requirements for further stages of archaeological assessments.
